Echo Christian Fellowship
| some 2,000 years ago, a Sound was heard in the earth… |
…and the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us… in these last days (He) has spoken to us in His Son… and the report (echo) about Him was spreading into every locality in the surrounding district |
| since that time, that Sound has echoed through generation after generation, sometimes loudly, sometimes softly… but each time the Word finds a home in a human heart, that Word speaks of a new birth. |
… but as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name… |
| indeed, each and every time, it is a new creation. |
… therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature… (2 corinthians 5:17) |
Echo Christian Fellowship
Echo…
equipping… followers to reflect Christ, through the study of the Word and the practice of set-apart living
cultivating… new life into each other and those around us, through patient seed-planting and the practice of radical faith in God's power to transform lives
harvesting… recognizable fruit that evidences God's work in the world, through leading others into life with Christ and through the practice of bearing in ourselves the fruits of the Spirit-filled life
overcoming… anything that exalts itself against God in our lives, through boldly confronting our own patterns of ungodliness and through the practice of loving each other ridiculously and sacrificially
Christian…
Christ…
…it's by His Name that we are saved (acts 4:12)
…it's in His Name that we have life (john 20:31)
…it's at His Name that every knee shall bow (philippians 2:10)
…and so, without shame, with great joy, and with solemn responsibility, we bear His Name as we proclaim this a Christian fellowship
Fellowship…
"What we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ." 1 john 1:3
we delight in the fellowship of believers, loving and not forsaking our own assembling together (hebrews 10:25), encouraging one another as we "do life" together.
we also do not hesitate to fellowship together with Christ, in His sufferings (1 peter 4:13) and the sufferings of our brothers and sisters.
Echo Christian Fellowship… echoing the life of Christ into a world that desperately needs fellowship with Him…
"Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children;
and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us
an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."
ephesians 5:1-2
